The updater is a well known problem and we just haven't got the resource to implement a new one quickly enough. It will come in time. In the meantime could you try the following, it may or may not work: Close the CnCNet client and delete the "version" file in your game directory. Go to your Red Alert 2 folder where CnCNet is installed. Try running the Resources\clientdx.exe directly as adminstrator If the prompt still gets stuck, try manually closing the CnCNet client via windows task manager for the updater to continue. (Look for clientdx.exe/clientxna.exe in your task list)

Hello, We need some additional information to help you out. In order for us to work out your issue, we will require your client.log file. Please attach it to your reply. Finding your client.log file: Navigate to your Red Alert 2 folder. This is where CnCNet is installed. Look for the folder called "Client" Inside this folder, there will be a file called client.log

Is it always these two colours?

I was working on the feature last weekend, but didn't finish. It's a known feature request and hopefully we'll be adding it to the client really soon.

Hello, It would be up to the mod author to make the necessary changes to make it work with the latest version of CnCNet. Your best bet is to contact the developer of the mod and show your interest.

Well done for organising and congratulations to the winners.

Rename it to a .map and place in the custom maps directory.

Hello, If you are experiencing slow or choppy gameplay whilst playing on CnCNet, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem. Install the CnCNet client This will look for your existing game directory. Once installed run CnCNetYRLauncher.exe or the shortcut supplied. Click "Options" Select "Display" and under the render options, select a new renderer. Commonly, "Auto" works best. Click Save, and launch Skirmish. Play a game with the AI. If the gameplay is fast then this renderer will likely be the best for you. If it hasn't worked, repeat from step 5 until you find a renderer that works best with your system. Failing the above, ensure your video drivers are up-to-date. You are running a suitable resolution the game can handle.

There is a severe lack of help for beginners to the game anywhere across CnCNet. It's something I'll look at adding to the main site soon. Meanwhile if anyone would like to chime in some topics of help, tips, tactics for starting up that will also be useful so I can look at adding in some guides. In the meantime, I recommend just trying to watch as many YouTube videos as you can, paying particular interest in what order people build up. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJfyI1vPu3szw_wt3GFI_jQ

Nope, nothing helpful there. Printscreen the error you're getting (kaboom dialog)?
-
You can click Yes on that, that's fine. Is there something else that happens after this? There should be crash log files inside the Client folder where CnCNet is installed. What's the exact error message you're getting with this new update?
-
Sounds like avast has quarantined the file. Could you follow these steps to restore the file again? If you're worried about the warning, you can read more about it here.
-
Copy the contents from Resources folder from the zip, into the resources folder. If theres a prompt to replace, replace the files. Alternatively use the new installer above
-
Ok when it updates and crashes, could you upload your crash log file please
-
Yeah so the contents needs to go in (Resources) folder needs to be put into the root. @Fukse New installer: http://downloads.cncnet.org/CnCNet5_YR_Installer-4.11.exe
