How exactly can I reproduce this? I mean, how did you install the game with missions but without the game videos? Are you trying to play missions or are you talking about the options menu in a multiplayer game?

New cnc-ddraw release (Red Alert 1 & C&C95)
FunkyFr3sh replied to FunkyFr3sh's topic in The Tech Center
Can you use discord ? New test release is out with support for 16 bit color depth games https://github.com/CnCNet/cnc-ddraw/releases Support for 16 bit color depth games Some games that were tested: Dune 2000 Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge 'handlemouse' must be set to 'false' for Tiberian Sun / Red Alert 2. Don't use the games built-in windowed mode, use the cnc-ddraw windowed mode instead (Alt+Enter) -
Yuri's Revenge works in CnC Net, but doesn't without it.
FunkyFr3sh replied to GiantR's question in Support
Make sure you don't have any compatibility modes enabled for any game executables. (game.exe, gamemd.exe, ra2.exe, ra2md.exe ....) Get ddraw.dll from here https://github.com/CnCNet/ts-ddraw/releases Try the latest release first, if it doesn't work, then try through some older ones -
We don't support that game here but you can have a look at https://cnc-online.net

Tunnel not working and no "high quality" status anymore.
FunkyFr3sh replied to Yorick's topic in Tunnel Servers
Both are working fine, both got the high quality status now -
glad to hear you got it working Currently we don't have a donation button on the website. It will return at some point, might be the best to just check the website again in a few months if you're still around then

New cnc-ddraw release (Red Alert 1 & C&C95)
FunkyFr3sh replied to FunkyFr3sh's topic in The Tech Center
auto is using direct3d 9 now, I didn't try recording with it yet. Maybe you need to use "game capture" for it to work with obs -
To get your g-line removed you'll have to check this here (we can't help with it) https://gamesurge.net/utils/gline/

It should update automatically on startup. If it doesn't, type "/reset" to force it

New cnc-ddraw release (Red Alert 1 & C&C95)
FunkyFr3sh replied to FunkyFr3sh's topic in The Tech Center
New release: Support for loading/saving settings for multiple games via a single settings file The window is now resizable during run time Added support for all kinds of missing features (to get a few additional games working) The following games should be working with this release (and probably some others): Command & Conquer Gold Command & Conquer: Red Alert Carmageddon Warcraft 2 StarCraft Diablo 2 Age of Empires Age of Empires II Fallout Theme Hospital Populous: The Beginning Outlaws Dungeon Keeper Dark Reign: The Future of War Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Note: Some support windowed mode, some not -
You can try to install the snap, but it's still unfinished (you either need to play in windowed mode or set the game res to the same as your desktop res) Probably should be working like this if i remember right: sudo apt install snapd sudo snap install cnctsun snap run cnctsun For red alert, use "cncra" rather than "cnctsun". Note: red alert doesn't require windowed mode or resolution changes, only the tiberian sun one needs that

Tunnel not working and no "high quality" status anymore.
FunkyFr3sh replied to Yorick's topic in Tunnel Servers
Sorry missed your post. I'm not even sure if we're going to keep the official tunnel thing since it has no advantages at all, it even has some disadvantages (broken official tunnels can't be disabled and people fail to start games...). Currently all official tunnels (besides one) are managed by us, that means we got full access to the server and in case a tunnel fails we can ssh in and fix it. (This is necessary, see above, they can't be disabled...). So yeah, it's not really any useful and just gives us headache and problems -
Well, we don't support that game here so the chances are very low that someone will be able to help you with that Try it here instead https://cnc-online.net/en/

Your graphics card only supports directx 8.1, maybe that's why it doesn't work

Tiberian Sun Ultimate Collection Windows 10 menu freeze
FunkyFr3sh replied to 11kgm's question in Support
Can you maybe record a video of it or give some more details about how far you get? I assume you can see the game launcher with the "Play Offline" "Play Online" etc buttons? You click on "Play Offline" and nothing happens? Or does "Play Offline" start the game and you can see the in-game main menu and that's where it stops? A few things you can try: Open your game folder and try to start "game.exe" directly with a double click rather than using the launcher. If it didn't work, open the game launcher and go to "Settings", now try through all renderers and see if one of them works. -
I think I got this bug fixed now, if you want to try it out: 1. Join the cncnet online or skirmish lobby 2. Type "/install ra-config" 3. Click on [Settings] -> [Red Alert] and change your renderer to OpenGL If it works, it should switch automatically to the GDI renderer and notify you about using the slower software renderer Note: This also works for tiberian dawn, the command there is "/install td-config"
-
I've seen such logs before but unfortunately there was nothing too useful inside so I didn't know what could've been the cause. Nice to see you've figured it out! I'll do some research, maybe it's possible to improve the opengl version detection and prevent the crash by switching to another renderer automatically.

New cnc-ddraw release (Red Alert 1 & C&C95)
FunkyFr3sh replied to FunkyFr3sh's topic in The Tech Center
The frame rate limiter doesn't slow down the scroll speed anymore with the latest cnc-ddraw since that was a pretty bad solution from many years ago. It actually slowed down the whole game, not just the scroll (which ended up causing lag in online games). I assume you're talking about CnC95, not RA95? The CnC95 campaign doesn't have the scroll speed limiter patch yet, so you'll have to enable a workaround I added to cnc-ddraw until nyerguds updates his installer. Add the following line to ddraw.ini You can choose a number between 1 and 16, higher number means slower scroll speed. It's probably the best to keep the number as low as possible to prevent slow downs during the gameplay. -
Error Installing Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun for MacOS
FunkyFr3sh replied to ridgek's question in Support
That's correct, there was a link to the porting kit too until yesterday (I removed it now since it's using an old installer). Will add the link back when it gets updated, until then it's better to use our .app since it's always up-to-date -

FunkyFr3sh replied to ridgek's question in Support
Both porting kit and our download are linked on https://cncnet.org/tiberian-sun and both contain the full game But maybe you got an older version, the tiberian sun full game download was added just 1-2 months ago. Anyways, if you got it working now then it's all good! -

FunkyFr3sh replied to ridgek's question in Support
@ridgek Looks like they're using an older version of the installer, did you already try our .app? CnCNet.dmg -
@gkneil Origin might tell you that there is an update available because some files were changed by the patch, make sure you don't choose to update, otherwise your installation will be broken. Best thing is to disable the updates in origin to prevent such problems. Just apply TSpatch again, then start the launcher and choose settings. In there you'll find the display mode, make sure it's set to fullscreen. If there still are issues then try to play around with the renderer setting until you found one that works for you.

put the file directly into your game folder, not inside of a .mix file and it should work fine

only red alert is using xdp files, TS is using the normal rules.ini and firestrm.ini
