Chad1233 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 The C-10 not appearing (When you get the WF) in the official N64 missions after a while during the game has bugged me ever since i got the game for N64.
MrFlibble Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I've got a theoretical question (rather than a suggestion): is it technically possible to create a hybrid engine that would combine features from C&C and RA? Or, at least, is there even a remote possibility of adding things like paradrops, crushable fences, group transport entry and maybe controllable planes and naval vessels to C&C (by reverse-engineering or other means)? I would also like to know Nyer's opinion about the FreeCnC/FreeRA engine recreations.
Nyerguds Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Think I already said this somewhere... my opinion on engine recreation is about the same as Hyper's, namely that they should first take a really good look at the real internal structure of the game before trying to recreate it. As for hybrid engine... I heard porting a single feature like a superweapon from TS to RA2 was months of work for the Rock Patch people. So you can imagine that making a complete hybrid engine in assembler coding is totally impossible.

Nyerguds Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 no, it would take 10 years full-time work to do. That's the same as "impossible" to me.
MrFlibble Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 no, it would take 10 years full-time work to do. With some teamwork and proper allocation of resources, I'm certain such a task could be completed in less time. Anyway, currently this is not an issue, right?
Irony Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 That kind of framework would probably only be found in an organisation where people get paid. There's not an awful lot of talented assembly hackers around these days. You just get the suits that write for RT computing software and they'd probably never help out on a video game project in their free time.

Maybe an c&c fan too On Brazil, if you see a Hacker, they probally live and work on another contry, because we prefer international app. (idk why), one exemple is the Kurumin Linux Team (Kurumin=Small Indian on Tupi), made by brazilians. it was abbandoned in 2007 due space lost due Ubuntu.
pichorra Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Nyer, can you make the Commando "Rescuable"? (like Evacuate Civilans)
Revolutionary Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Nyer, can you make the Commando "Rescuable"? (like Evacuate Civilans) Better idea, can you make it so we can select who is "Rescuable"? (so it can be any one, we only have to say are or are not)
Nyerguds Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I don't know what controls the Rescue logic, but applying it to the commando would seriously screw up some missions.
Nyerguds Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 eh what? Game speed goes from 0 to 7. 5 is right in there.

Crimsonum Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 What did the rescue logic do again? Order civilians to enter a friendly transport?
Nyerguds Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 No, if you order a civilian unit controlled by your side into a chinook, it flies off the map and triggers the "Civ. Evac." trigger. It's used for the "rescue Moebius/Delphi" type missions
MrFlibble Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Isn't there also something that is related to the word "rescue" that makes neutral-owned civilians follow your units? Or am I making stuff up? I think the civilian unit in a GDI Covert Ops mission where you have to rescue his wife has some rarely used order to do just that? Too lazy to check right now
Nyerguds Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 no idea what's up with that, tbh... I think the Rescue command is purely what helicopters execute once a civilian has entered it.
Nyerguds Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Looking back at this, I wonder if you can "fake" a "Civ Evac" thrigger just by making a helicopter reinforce and then execute a Rescue command
AchromicWhite Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 An alternate mode where the MLRS is purchasable after regular comm center for GDI. It always bugs me...A -Liam
Jacko Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 yeah especially in like mission 8 or something where you get them but can't buy them until about mission 13
