Game crashes on windows 10 while playing online or lan
FunkyFr3sh replied to fanan12345's question in Support
Can you look inside of your game folder and see if there is a file named "except.txt" and upload it here? -
Not sure how you do it with AVG, may need to ask in their forums. The installation prompt shows when you click on a button in the launcher to start the game, it looks like this: http://www.4gamez.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/DirectPlay-Installation.png It's a windows feature, reinstalling the game doesn't solve it cause the game installer can't take care of it. I found this video here randomly, maybe it helps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XYyGB-Tn3g&feature=youtu.be

The Access denied error is probably caused by a security program on your pc, you need to add an exception for Dune2000Config.exe. The other error is most likely caused by missing directplay components, windows normally asks you if you like to install it. Either you clicked on no or something prevents windows from downloading the files. (dplayx.dll)

Thanks to @Shaokhan and @_mk , we got the first test version now online. Only .mis files are not supported right now. There are multiple problems with these files and it takes a lot of effort to get it done properly. We will probably have a workaround we can use until everything is done (only chosen players can upload .mis file maps)
-
yea you can use sc-missions, it was actually meant to be used for all missions inside of 1 file. But only if you don't override the numbers that were reserved for flame dancers though. I got both flame dancers files updated already, just didn't push the update cause the executable doesn't support the NextMissionInCampaign thing. Rules.ini shouldn't be changed

What game is it? Yuri's revenge?

I just noticed you are from Egypt, it's a known problem. DoDger found a solution, you could try what he said and see if it works, check this thread here: i-cant-play-online

Hello, Please try one of the following solutions: Go into your Red Alert 2 folder, in there you will find "game.exe", "gamemd.exe" "ra2.exe", "gamemd-spawn.exe" and "ra2md.exe", right click -> properties -> compatibility, Enable "Reduced Color Mode: 16bit" Enable the "Disable Display Scaling on High DPI Settings" compatibility mode for all executables (see above) Set your game resolution to the same resolution as your desktop. Navigate to Client Options -> Display, and select the resolution and save.

It's a new forum software so the old themes are not working anymore. But you should be able to switch to a alternative theme at the bottom of the page

Title - A new selection of training maps
FunkyFr3sh replied to DaDaDaDaDa's topic in RA Singleplayer Maps
Very cool idea, I wanted to do something similar longer time ago but it never happened You can use all single player triggers in multiplayer maps too, you need to add the following key to the map: [Basic] IsCoopMode=Yes you will also have to add "Winner is.." triggers to such maps since the game doesn't end when all units died, it just works like it does in missions The human player is always "multi1" in a 1 player map, the first AI player would be "multi2". But in your case you should't use the multi houses for AI players since they probably would start building like a normal ai in a random map. Use the other houses like "germany" for ai players and add scripting to let them do what you want -
I know it's a lot work, and that php stuff is only the half of it, I need to code the other part myself (but I know how to do it, it's not php) I got a lot in my to do list, there are also 3 other games that need to keep running too. Next update will probably not have the map download working cause I have a lot things to finish first. We can just keep the code like this for now and try it without .mis files and just add the rest later if everything works. At least we have something to use now, so it can be done (which wasn't even possible until now)
-
I guess a check for the file size of the .ini would be cool too, should be smaller than 2kb. With the .mis file I can't help, don't have a plan for it... Will be tricky to get it done, but just checking the filesize isn't enough lol

I got my pms disabled, not going to change anytime soon. Other moderators will probably have the same soon, next update will bring some changes, you can report problems then via a menu in the lobby. Until that is done you guys can post here in the forums

make sure you create the files with proper names like gem01.bar for barren, gem01.jun for jungle etc
