  1. Hey! Get our patcher from here: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=1918.0 Make sure you select "Patch existing installation", but it should be automatically selected if you have the the ultimate collection installed already. After the installation click on "play online", then you guys can either play online or LAN. You can also try our mini multiplayer installation, it can be installed even if you already have the ultimate collection (there will be no confilct) https://cncnet.org/red-alert
  2. I think I've seen this before, but can't remember what the solution was. In the worst case you can just download the single player installer from us, it has the patch already included
  3. Game starts and he can send/receive, the game connects for him and drops instantly since the other players don't receive any data from him Using a VPN solved the problem for now, not the best solution though
  4. Check this: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=7333.0 TL;DR Contact your internet provider and ask what's going on
  5. I got it to work for me I'm running Windows 10, through a KW5262 router, and portforwarded UDP 50000, 1161, 9054, 8054, used /gips and /ips so I can DMZ my local 192.168.1.x IP via gateway router page, tried un/checking upnp in the client(typing /upnp doesn't work for me as it keeps failing to open ports) and I still get dropped ingame after 30 seconds. /porttest in the cncnet channel chat tells me all my ports are open after all that work, but in the game lobby, it tells me they're all closed. I found out that I could only play the first game I join after freshly opening cncnet, but drop on all other subsequent games. The RA client also takes forever to open for subsequent game sessions as well. Already "allowed" upon firewall prompt, and Windows firewall automatically adjusts to port changes through the router, and finally tried disabling it so it doesn't have to do with the firewall. The only solution that worked for me was to sign out of Windows and sign back in each time I wanted to join/host a new game lol Also, using /porttest in the game lobby causes me to drop for that game session. RA is a pretty old game, so it's a miracle it even loads on win10. I guess it has to do with your client being out of sync, lagging with the previous game session, the game process tree not being completely killed, or just some serious compatibility issue. I don't get this problem at my university which runs Win7, never drops and is always smooth using fresh install and default settings. So if I understood this correctly, the game actually starts and you connect, you can deploy your mcv and play for 30 seconds and then you lose the connection to the other players? If only the first game works then yes, I guess the game might still be running in the background. Did you try to close cncnet and afterwards check the task manager for "cncnet5.exe" or "ra95-spawn.exe" ? BTW, everything was compiled and tested on windows 10, I've been playing a lot games too. Windows 10 is not the problem, it must be something else that triggers it. About the /porttest, you should never use that inside of a game room, it's normal that it doesn't work cause the port is already in use for the connections to the other players. Will fix that on the next update and disable the command in game
  6. Chinese players can also disable P2P connections in Automatic games and always use tunnel. This can help sometimes, but can also make it worse...
  7. Are you talking about international games? Or do you want to improve the connection for chinese-only games? There is no more Tunnel mode, it's either P2P or Automatic. P2P will kick a player out of the game if he can't connect. Automatic is also P2P, if a player can't connect then he will use tunnel connection (while all others use P2P). For chinese players Automatic works a bit different, if 1 player can't connect P2P then all players in the room use tunnel, not only 1 player. Hamachi would be bad and makes it just worse, but VPN's can help a lot for chinese players. Some chinese have a good connection to hong kong, they don't need to use a VPN. But others have a bad connection to this server, they need to use a VPN (try korea VPN's) If all players in a game are from china then use a chinese server, don't use a VPN. If players fail to connect p2p and it's using a tunnel then players need to have a good connection to the tunnel
  8. You should be able to see it in-game already, the website takes a moment to refresh. Try CTRL+F5 to refresh it 10 mbps should be enough for 50 players, set it a bit lower just to be sure (try 32)
  9. The crash is known, it happens when you try to load a map that doesn't have a name I think. The editor got a bug where it sometimes doesn't save the map, so it's the best you check the file after saving to make sure it actually really saved it. If the file size is 0 byte then click the T icon in the top right and copy all text from there and save it to a file manually with notepad. The best thing you can do is using the other editor for the terrain and only use the scenario editor for units/buildings/events Note: the other editor can run in a window too, you can enable window mode in the config Make sure your filenames are short and check all the map files in your folder with notepad to ensure all of them have a name
  10. Check the first post here in this thread, there are few things listed you can try
  11. I think you need to disable the DoubleOwned for rocket soldier, not sure about the fake buildings though
  12. Ahhh! Noob here. So the TSpatch only applies to multiplayer? I thought TSinstaller3-beta11r6.exe is official because I downloaded it from cncnet.org. I think it seems so for most external visitors. Is there a way to clarify the file hotlink in the download page? TSpatch is mainly for single player installations (First Decade / Origin / Official CD's from back in the day) Oh I was not referring to "official cncnet", but you are right, I need to make this more clear! The TSinstaller and TSpatch "should" have the same functionality and there is no need to apply TSpatch on top of the TSinstaller. Both are unofficial fan made. Official = Origin / The first decade
  13. I checked the chat logs, you didn't have 1 normal conversation. You just spam the main lobby with offensive non-sense. When you join the lobby you can see the rules, one of them says "no harassment". CLOSED
  14. Your last post was not approved, please refrain from posting such non-sense here. Stop insulting people, change your attitude. You got a 1 day ban
  15. CnCNet Client Updated automatic server choice for chinese players (New Hong Kong tunnel) Red Alert The lag message in the top left can now be disabled via redalert.ini -> [Options] LagWarningDuration=0 A new option has been added to redalert.ini for older computers -> [Options] LowCpuUsageScroll=yes
  16. did you try to disable one screen to see if it works then?
  17. Who of you two is getting the error? If there is a crash again then please upload the logfile named except.txt here on the forums so that someone can look into it (Might take some time...) On a mac you'll have to right click the cncnet.app, view contents, drive_c, Games/CnCNet/TiberainSun_Online -> except.txt Does the crash happen randomly during the game or right away on startup btw?
  18. You have the user filter enabled in the top right You ticked the tiberian dawn filter and that's why you only see tiberian dawn players
  19. DPI scaling doesn't work too well with many programs (especially old games), try to disable it https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5990-dpi-scaling-level-displays-change-windows-10-a.html
  20. I just checked it quick on virustotal and you are right, comodo is showing a false positive detection while all other 57 anti virus programs claim the file is clean (yes, it is clean!) The result is here: https://virustotal.com/en/file/f129c8db9311063d06924e3b935ff61a59ac2b66950354b2c4406762a4728349/analysis/1488165732/ I guess someone needs to file a report just to let the comodo guys know about the problem so they can fix it
  21. you can change your nickname at the log in screen
  22. There was no downtime the last days, you can follow the stats here: https://cncnet.org/network-status When a server goes down you'll be able to see it there clearly. However, there are a lot servers and the chances that all are down are slim (never happened yet)
  23. The game might not support such high resolutions, Tiberian Sun also had to be patched to support it. Try 1920x1080 and see if the crash still happens
