Ra95 tunnel sever hardware requirements?
FunkyFr3sh replied to hgjcool's topic in General Discussion
It will probably need about 50mb ram since it's java. 5mbps connection would be enough for a small server with 16 users I guess. Doesn't need a strong CPU. You can probably run it on a cheap 256mb linux vps just fine To run a china or hong kong server on linux use the old tunnel: wget https://cncnet.org/files/cncnet-tunnel.exe nohup java -jar cncnet-tunnel.exe -name "my cool server" -maxclients 16 -port 50000 -headless & -
Automatic = Hong Kong All other tunnels have very high packet loss for chinese, they can't be used (too much lag) Yes, sometimes pinky323 is very laggy, would be nice to have another server for chinese only games. For international games you guys can only use Automatic (hong kong), so make sure if you have players from outside china you always use Automatic, DO NOT use pinky323 for international games, it will lag for everyone outside china Again, just to make it clear: All players in a game are from china -> use pinky323 Some players are outside china -> use Automatic

Oh, that's too bad ... I guess he probably blocked it somehow. Can't you ask him to unblock? You can also try a VPN on your laptop, there are many free ones such as hotspotshield

Can't install TiberianDawn_Online_installer or cc95v106c_r3_u4
FunkyFr3sh replied to jonathan68's question in Support
Why you can't use it? Are there any error messages? Screenshots could help too -
Add some more details, what exactly happens when you try to join the game lobby? Error specific error messages? Screenshots can help too. What happens when you try to open the website? Error specific error messages? So it happens on your laptop and also on your android device? Both can't open the website? Do other websites work? Are you from UK? I know that internet providers use very weird setups there to censor the internet, virgin media calls it "Web Safe/Child Safe/Virus Safe", you can log in to your account on the website of the ISP and disable these things. At least for virgin media that works fine

For the campaign you'll need to modify the rules.ini file, for cncnet skirmish/online/LAN you need to modify spawn.xdp I think some values can't be modified in missions, but I didn't really try it though. Maybe try to find some other values, you could just make your tanks stronger or something like that The installer offers you to install all savegames, but if you missed that then just download them here: http://downloads.cncnet.org/updates/ra1installer/svwra303.zip

There is no solution now, but any information you have about the crash will help to fix it. If you can find a way to reproduce it then i would fix it right away Did you play against AI players?
-
That's how it works, you download 1 file and get access to all games. It will never have auto-start on windows though, will also never run sneaky in the background and cause a high cpu load like steam. Fixed. cool

Yes, we need to merge it all into just 1 single download. Our linux/mac versions already got that somewhat done, those come with a additional launcher where you can select the game first, if the game is not installed, it will install it. Same will be done for windows too at some point, of course, it can also download the campaign then. Takes some effort to get it done though, one big problem is the fact that different people work on each installer... The new mini installers are not only small, but also work on linux/mac and have a few extras we needed. I will get rid of my old RA1installer and merge it with the new mini installer at some point. Not sure if nyerguds and tore would want to do that though Here is how it looks on linux: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5by5H1Q2PxEU1NmZENBaEU4VlU/view Here is the launcher that should work on windows too: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5by5H1Q2PxEX3FEbm5ZNFV3c1U/view You can build it up on your own already by now, takes a few steps if you like to have the campaign available though. (I will make a new better launcher later, this was only made quickly for linux) Not sure what nyerguds was talking about, we only had 1 update in 5 years... I'm pretty sure he did that update, will have a look into it to see why it's not working atm. Thanks for reporting Oh, and the look of the launchers was changed because of linux too (there were problems with the background image) Edit: Playing online doesn't work for me either with nyers installer. It looks like the problem is related to a change tore did (he forced https on the server). That means nyer has to update the file in his installer, can't really do anything about it. You can get the latest cncnet5.exe here if you like to update it on your own meanwhile: http://downloads.cncnet.org/cncnet5.exe

That's a known crash, you are not the only one getting it. We don't know yet why it happens There is a video of someone playing and getting this crash, he used mammoth tanks to attack a AI player building. Did you or someone else in your game use mammoth tanks too? Did you attack a AI player when it happened? The video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5by5H1Q2PxEWlZCaW82ZE1lbkU/view

did you try to play around with the "mouse hack" setting? It can cause such bugs in some cases
-
Hi! You cannot apply TSpatch on custom installations like TSinstaller3-beta11r6.exe since it comes with its own compatibility fixes and settings. TSpatch is only for official unmodified installations like the first decade or the origin version. To solve your problem with the menus you'll have to play around with the rendering settings, try IE-DDraw

Which mapeditor can I use for red alert?

You can find the updated editors here: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=3476.0 But they're also included with all of our downloads -
Anyone Aware of the Build Queen Ants Glitch in RA:C?
FunkyFr3sh replied to blitzile's topic in Red Alert
This bug was fixed long time ago, the game doesn't reset all values and you can keep some settings from a previous map or mission. You can download our patch here: https://cncnet.org/red-alert -
CnCNet Client No more map cheat warning for spectators Fixed broken LAN option

I disabled the cheat warning now for spectators. You guys should post up new maps here at the forums once they're finished so we can add them to the trusted list. Just click on the cheat button and copy/paste the checksum to do so The delay can't be changed atm, gamesurge only allows 1 message/command per 3 seconds I have to find a good and simple way to allow unbanning, not sure yet how to do it though

No, there is no option to change that atm
-
I don't really know why it happens for you and for others not. For me it also works fine. Not sure what triggers it for you, didn't have a closer look yet since i'm busy with other things atm
-
Hi, yes, it's not possible to make exceptions since we can't tell what maps you played. We only know that you used it online games
-
Nope, I don't know that You can probably use Hamachi, GameRanger or Tunngle to play it online if normal network doesn't work for you. If the game doesn't work then try out DxWnd, it can make many old games run properly https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/
-
Yes, exactly these values. Don't make them too high, not sure what the max values are (maybe it will crash if too high). You probably only want to change Buldings, Infantry, Aircraft and Vessel. Keep all the others untouched You don't need any additional programs, it will just work without it. If LAN doesn't work and you don't know how to set your router into bridged mode then just use Online mode in cncnet since that will always work just fine
-
open spawn.xdp in notepad, in there you'll find all the limits. Make sure all of you got the same file though, else you can't play together. Yes, playing through wifi works fine. It might be a problem if you have multiple routers though (1 wifi and 1 without), in that case you need to set your wifi router to bridge mode

Having cncnet in a seprate folder to the games
FunkyFr3sh replied to weaveR's topic in CnCNet Discussion
Yes, I think there was only one useful registry key to enable the aftermath expansion Having no cncnet files in the folder at all might take a lot effort, but I'll write it down and do some tests when I got time
