playing an online game without having the needed rights to allow it in the firewall is not a good idea!

There is a structure build limit in Red Alert.
FunkyFr3sh replied to LastPanda's topic in General Discussion
you can change the limit in skirmish games, but in multiplayer games it is not an option since it would lag too much -
the limit is pretty low for these units and it is a global limit for all players overall

i doubt kick would be used often, usually people hit the ban cause they wanna get rid of someone i dont see any use of the kick function tbh, you should only use the buttons if you want to start the game badly but someone doesnt ready up, kicking just for fun without having the intention to start the game is weird

ah, you need to change the rendering to default then, it should remove the ddraw.dll file
-
Anything is possible, but why would someone change a perfect game?
-
That is very strange, it should work perfectly on cncnet too. Do you also have the same problems in singleplayer with the in game menus? Maybe the fix is not applied properly for cncnet for any reason. Are you sure there are no ddraw.dll files in your folder? Do you use the same installation for cncnet and offline?
-
thanks a lot, that helps to keep the servers running!
-
you are right, there was a bug caused by one of the last updates, it has been fixed now! thanks for reporting

try to use the following patch and make sure you remove any ddrawl.dll from your game folder: http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/files/ts/TSpatch.exe

i won my first games when someone told me to make 5 tanks on a standard map or 7 tanks on a money map and then just attack Good players know how to stop these rushes tho, so i cannot suggest anyone to play like this (thats what people call jewing in red alert)

Does the original C&C95 640x480 resolution work as intended?
FunkyFr3sh replied to MrFlibble's topic in C&C 1
The game tries to go into 640x400 and if it fails it goes into 640x480 mode, this happens automatically it depends on your hardware if 640x400 is supported or not. You can however just force the game to 640x480 even if 640x400 is supported and would work, just modify redalert.ini for that Our patched version of red alert doesnt support the black bars anymore though so you will end up with a slightly bigger view and 10sidebar items instead of 8 (our high res patch is doing that) -
Error - Unable to allocate primary video buffer.
FunkyFr3sh replied to maximi84's topic in Red Alert
I know the bug with the drawing problems on Mac OSX, heard about it a couple times but this is the first time i have seen it, nice That "Error - Unable to allocate primary video buffer" should not happen, did you enable cnc-ddraw in the options like it suggests? We have multiple game downloads for Mac OS X, where did you download yours? I need to know which version you are using, you can also send me a message in the game lobby so i can check the version if you cannot remember. Type this command: /msg FunkyFr3sh hi, it is me, maximi84 Here is the latest version: http://dev.cncnet.org/files/CnCNet_Wineskin_Mac_OSX.zip -
Loads of players :O

I added filter options now, you can now finally remove all the unwanted ra players from the list via the settings Should be much easier to find the TS players you are looking for there is also a friendlist now, it doesnt do much besides filtering users. add friends with "/friends add yuz|MAN|" remove with "/friends remove yuz|MAN|" check "Hide all except friends" in settings. now u'll only see who you want in the lobby list.

Yes it is tricky and you won't see things similar to cncnet on many places You can get the new installer here: http://tore29.com/tsins/TSinstaller3-beta10r3.exe The old one should be ok too, since we are using a different executable for cncnet anyways But the new installer comes with an updated config program/game launcher and map editor, it is worth downloading it
-
We ship our own game executable through the updater to ensure the original game stays untouched. Our executable loads different files (some have just changed names and others are completely new files), that allows us to tweak settings and fix bugs, but also allows us to add support for new ingame theaters for example. The original game will just ignore these files since it doesn't know them
-
We were just stealing the idea from westwood chat and mplayer, those networks already did the same It would be nice to support more games, but it requires a lot of modifications in the game code to skip the menus and forward all the internet traffic through our servers. Since the most games are not open source you would need to reverse engineer them to make it working I doubt we will add support for random maps At least no one is working on it atm, it could be added if someone is willing to spend the time to code it

thanks again for sharing

Download https://downloads.cncnet.org/TSpatch.exe If link above doesn't work try this one. TSpatch supports The First Decade, The Ultimate Collection from origin and old CD installations. Do not apply TSpatch and the The unofficial The First Decade Patch to the same game folder! Features Fix for the main menu problems on Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 ( Black Screen / Invisible Menu / Freezing ) Fix for the following error: "Error: Unable to set video mode" Fix for the following error: "One or more DLL files were missing or damaged. Please reinstall." Fix for the following error: "A mouse is required for playing Tiberian Sun." Fix for the 'Missing required file "ssleay32.dll"' error Fix for the fast Scroll-rate issue Fix for the movie scaling bug where parts of the movie were not visible Crash fix for resolutions with more than 1200 height (up to 3840x2160 and more is supported) Random freezing can be fixed by setting "Single Processor Affinity" via the config Graphics Patch - http://www.stuffhost.de/files/cnc/ Hyperpatch - http://www.ppmforums.com/index.php?f=574 Online support via CnCNet with hundreds of players Final Sun Map Editor Game Launcher Config Program Known problems Game is flickering / Desktop bleeding through game window? Can't return to the game after alt+tab or windows key? Black screen bug on windows 7? Open the config program and change your renderer until you found one that's working for you. Firestorm missions are not working? Videos do not play? The issue can be caused by the unofficial The First Decade Patch, some missions will not be playable anymore if you install TSpatch and the unofficial The First Decade patch into the same game folder.

Where did you download it? If you got your version from us, then try to go to the config program and change your hotkeys

If you have been warned then it was for sure for all the off-topic spam you did. E.g. someone asked how to modify a Red Alert Map and you spammed how it is done in OpenRA, totally unrelated stuff and very confusing for the thread starter. I don't think anyone has a problem with you posting news about OpenRA, we even had news about your releases on the front page many times.

With such a slow connection it could very well jump from very bad to very good just by opening a website Make sure you close all programs that access the internet if you like to avoid the very bad message All the connection test does is a ping test, if your ping is unstable then it would show very bad as result
