  1. CnCNet Yuri's revenge game client checking colors difference at every game start only among human players. So it's still possible to set color for AI same as the one of any human player and start the game. Probably, "Random" color option has the same issue.
  2. It's just a huge map with a small playable-visible area. Mapmaker must crop such unused borders to avoid excess CPU using. Change MapRenderer starting parameters to render only visible area.

  4. Pretty annoying to see some hosted games with afk hosts. Sometimes it takes alot of time to undersatnd "the host is not here" because players usually busy by talking between each other and prepareing to start the game untill they all will be ready for start and found out "host is AFK". Then they all going to quit - new players joining, starting to prepere for game and this process repeats again and again. Some abandoned games keep hosted for few hours (probably people went to sleep but left their PCs ON). Guys, i suggest you to make force colsing game room if host is idle (keypress, mouse move) for few minutes (~ 3 min). This feature will solve the problem like that. Also this will decrease the average number of stressed people in the network. What do you think about it?

  6. I have noticed the new client deleted some* map files from the root directory of the game, but copied them to "client/custom" subdir. Now some custom maps not available in non-cncnet games. Can you guys make the client just copy map files without deleting original ones? *Weird, but happened with not all maps. Guess the reason of that is some symbols in file names.

  8. What if spots placed randomly on the map? The distance between players should be counted anyway. I'm not sure but it seems the original game counts distances from the center of the map to every start position and then picks the group of 2 closest numbers (for 2 players on any map). All coordinates availavle from map file. And if i remember correctly, for team games, players in same team were placed closely to each other. So in-team distances were counted too.
  9. As soon as i will get a new map, will do that. But i renamed now "Custom" folder, and got no errors though.
  10. Try to do this: 1. Close cncnet client. 2. Go to game folder and rename "Map Renderer" folder to "Map Renderer1". You will disable map previews rendering. As a temporary solution it may help.

  13. 1 "Missing" because you useing your own custom text which does not exist in game .csf file 2 "Limited" for reason of multi language support. If you need translate all the game text to another language you have just to translate this text strings file. By creating missions, no way to remove this "MISSING". However you can use existing text IDs. To find them use this program http://files.planetcnc.ru/sg/text/SSTEditor.rar and open ra2md.csf file. You can even ask a player "Insert a game CD and try again" during a mission (Program which i gave you may run in non-english version, just switch language setting)
  14. I think the map may be picked by mutual agreement. If this fails, by mutual disagreement. If this fails again, ask observer to pick the map or any random player in the lobby. Player chooses side. Guys, don't forget to verify you are playing with not a fake opponent (use skype or something).
  15. Now preview shows. They appearing sequentially one after one downwards the map list. And MapRenderer doesn't overload my pc with multiple processes. I don't know what you did to get it working but many thanks for that. I might suggest now to make higher priority for a currently selected map in map rendering order, so it will be processed right after previous rendered map. And do not make detailed preview for the custom maps pls, their built-in preview is best. Already posted about it in another topic. But just an opinion though. Log created after 2nd client run.
  16. I already made loading custom maps with embedded map previews several times faster yesterday, and also fixed the RAM consumption. I don't know if you've pushed that update yet though. Embedded map previews of the custom maps was showing normally at the moment i uploaded the last log file. Problem with official ones. Sorry, i forgot to mention about that.
  17. Score screen able to show you an actual game duration. Less time - faster game.
  18. I got it. Try to play this map please at first. And tell me min/max and probably average number of units when game becoming visibly slow. So i will know an approximate number of units i need to set in waves on requested map. Map name: Benchmark 1/2/10/20 x100 Starting position #1. Other settings don't important i think.
  19. Currently 821 files. Some of them are txt and archives.
  20. i have a map for lag testing, where you can reinforce 100/200/1000/2000 units in 1 click. Do you need that? It has a countdown timer as i remember, but it set for a 1 in-game hour. i can to adjust it. also i can make reinforcements move to a specific location.
  21. Still the same problem. But client freezes as hell, opening a client takes about 4 min and 1GB RAM (!). When MapRenderer.exe process is gone, map preview still unavailable. Maybe my PC is crap but it doesn't matter.
  22. Even more simple way is to validate nicknames using skype communication. Prep and tournament organizers, make this as a rule in further tournaments please, until logging system will be implemented in CnCnet.
