I got Blade Runner too On a related note, I got an original Dune II box a couple of days ago Kidding aside, though... no, I haven't played any of the really early games, from back when they were still "Westwood Associates".

Why do you keep putting that in your post? This IS the cncnet community

X3M: Technically, in the novels, they're called "pre-spice mounds". They're places where an underground build-up of pre-spice (excreted by the sandworms) ferments from the desert heat until it explodes and covers the surface, where it dries out and ripens further to actual final spice.

Um. What? O_o

This thread is also kinda in the "Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn) / Covert Operations" section of the forum

You could try messing around with compatibility modes... see if anything there helps.

Well, I got this nice pack: Besides Dune II, the only one I've played so far is Kyrandia 1, though... and I haven't actually managed to beat it.

There's no rule against pointing out spelling errors in the rules I'd fix it, but I have no clue if I even got access to that stuff; that's all Tore's domain.

Command & Conquer: Dawn of Tomorrow teaser thread

You, eh, can just tell your PC to record all sound actually produced by your PC, you know. It's called the "stereo mix" device. I suggest googling to find out how to enable/access it

I prefer having apps that are manageable through Windows' own install/uninstall system. Non-admin installs inevitably means there are no uninstall entries.

A bit of a side note, but may be interesting to know... cnc-ddraw adds ctrl+s as screenshot saving shortcut Though, even without cnc-ddraw, I noticed that you can save screenshots using the MS Office clipboard. The trick is odd but it works: -Open MS Word before starting the game, and keep it open (essential. If it's not open the Office Clipboard won't be active) -After pressing print screen ingame, switch to MS Word, and paste the pic there. From my experience, the palette is preserved this way. -Right-click on the image you pasted, and select "Save as Picture" Carriers? In RA1?

I'm... not entirely sure this is true. You have to keep the sub-cells in mind. It's possible that infantry in a corner subcell doesn't detect stealth diagonally in the cell close to the opposite corner. And if you move infantry normally, they never end up in the center sub-cell, so this is always a concern.

That's kind of a dick move, you know? -
THE TIME IS NOW! But wait 20 seconds until I get connected on this game, okay? Honestly, though, I watched one of these videos, and besides a couple of second in the initial "connecting" box I didn't really see much lag. There's an odd echo in the audio, though. As if he's recording with a microphone instead of just capturing the stereo mix channel internally.

The C&C95 v1.06 installer I made is a run-off-the-mill all-users application install, so it needs admin privileges.

They're spice "blooms", not balloons
-
bmoeller, you're overreacting again... djjammin1337 was defending you As for your map, yeah, I saw the fact the post was reported, but I honestly thought it was a silly thing to report, and said so in the moderation discussion. Looks like Tore disagreed

Oh, no, my reply was actually a rather snide comment on the fact that most people consider TD to be "low resource" in general because tiberium regrowth in C&C1 is so slow Overall, I just don't think there's much of a community here in our D2k forums yet... I personally haven't played it in years, and have no idea of the average value of spice blooms or spice fields
-
Because you use the same internet connection. That's the thing that gets banned.

Yeeah... we already had a topic about that, from someone's attempt to put a gigantic civilian city on a map, and noticed that after a certain amount of buildings the rest just failed to show up on the map. -
Heh. The "Build Anywhere" exploit only worked in early DOS C&C versions, though It wasn't me mentioning that glitch... in fact I never even heard of it before, since I rarely play RA2. O_o

Your report has been noted, and promptly removed. I advise you to read my full post, then read the title under my name, and then consider not antagonizing this board's global moderators. Oh, and you derailed this thread yourself, by overreacting on a side note I added between parentheses at the end of my post.

As you so nicely pointed out, I'm a moderator. I am not, however, a RA mission maker; my expertise in that is limited to C&C1. This means that I replied to this thread because you posted it in the wrong section, and I moved it to make sure you would more easily get the help you wanted. The png thing was a general side note, since gif degrades images by reducing them to 256 colours. It was not an "I ORDER YOU TO REUPLOAD THIS AS PNG!" command And really, you whine about 1 MB in an age where people download 10gb games through Steam? O_o

Heh. Returning to the menu is a kinda essential part of the minicampaigns system
