Graphic Card Issue

Hi All,

 

I have installed Yuris Revenge from the XWIS Site and the game was working fine however when i downloaded the CNCNET DTA CLIENT it is showing me an issue as below:

"Yuris Revenge has crashed"

"Could not find a graphic device that supports the HiDef profile.

The game works fine if i do not try to launch it through CNCNET.

Can someone help on the same?

Could you go to your Yuri's Revenge directory, then to the Client sub-directory and upload the "client.log" file from that directory here?

Yes, that is the correct file. It says that your graphics card is

Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family 

I'm not sure whether that graphics chip cuts the client's minimum requirements, but try the following:

1. Download and install Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0 Refresh
2. Go to your Yuri's Revenge directory, then to the "Resources" sub-directory, and there start clientxna.exe (depending on Windows settings it might display just "clientxna" as the file's name)

Does the client work then?

The CNCNET Client launches perfectly now. i think i just need to play with the setting now.

So the client is running perfectly now and i went to QM and got matched against an opponent however as the game was about to be launched it shows me an error that the game needs to run in 16bit depth.

 

can you please help?

Are you able to play a skirmish? From the regular client?

The regular client doesnt even load and provides as error as mentioned in the first post.

Start the CnCNet client from clientxna.exe as I stated in my 2nd post. Are you able to play a Skirmish game then? (Go to Skirmish from the CnCNet client's main menu and just start a game)

Have you enabled windowed mode by any chance? 

Also are you on the latest update? (3.69) - You should see the version bottom right corner in yellow text on the main menu of the client.

Yes the skrimish game launched perfectly.

@ Grant - yes i am using the Windowed mode.

Should i change to a different mode?

Try disabling windowed mode.

I disabled the windowed mode however now it is showing me a CNCNETQM.EXE has stopped working error.

I'm the main programmer of the main CnCNet YR client. The quick match client (CnCNetQM) however is @dkeeton's territory.

In the meanwhile you should be able to go on CnCNet through the regular (clientxna) client and play custom games there.

Do you have CnCNet client version 3.74 and CnCNetQM version 1.30?
