The sc*.mix system is reeeally easy to clone inside the exe though. I even did that to read the updat*.mix files. So you can perfectly make it read your own addon mix files.

8-bit Armies - a new c&c from ex-Westwood
Nyerguds replied to Milkey Wilkey's topic in General Discussion
I love Grey Goo, but there was just so little content in it. -
It usually just means they're playing with the XWIS version, which has the music stripped from it

Sheesh. I already told you people how to localize the error messages X_x

Terms and conditions? Eh? You might want to start by specifying which game you're talking about, and what download page you mean.

Is here a "maxcameraheight" change option for RA2?
Nyerguds replied to Mabus's topic in Modding Discussion
Strangely, in the trailer, the size of the box on the radar doesn't change when they zoom in. Though I don't think they ever zoom out further than 1:1. -
That's why I put mine on ModDB

Tiberian Dawn - Extended Operations *SEPTEMBER UPDATE*
Nyerguds replied to Darkstar387's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Theaters? Yea, but I've been planning to instead just make ini files out of it... has the advantage it's easier to modify, and the disadvantage that it becomes more of an external mod than the official extra theater that Snow is now. But hey, it can always be officially supported by cncnet. -
Installing mission from an old unofficial RA1 expansion
Nyerguds replied to TaxOwlbear's topic in Red Alert
They're zip self-extractors. Doesn't matter that they're 16 bit DOS apps; if you got winrar installed you can just right click them and select "extract". Heck, fairly sure you can just rename them to .zip and open them. They also just seem to contain savegames though. -
Troubl with specific files in C&C the first decade
Nyerguds replied to Ilovegames's topic in General Discussion
...yet? We'll never 'support' Generals; it's a GameSpy game, and the cnc-online people already support those. But yeah. I dunno. Try reinstalling? Seems weird that it just disappeared... -
Plokite_Wolf, toms knows what he's talking about, lol. Yea, he's probably right; I never managed to get myself to reverse engineer my own changes to proper code, which was the main necessity for integrating everything, and if I'd actually looked into the power bar hack I probably could've fixed it myself. Doesn't change the facts, though. That hack is half-assed, and I still have no idea why they would disable single player features on the game

Mods can't conflict if they're not even installed on the same game

Walkthrough for new players: THE BEGINNING OF A GAME
Nyerguds replied to c0rpsmakr's topic in Tiberian Sun
THINGS TO DO DURING THE FIRST FEW MINUTES OF THE GAME: 1. Punch tree, get wood 2. Build crafting table 3. Make pickaxe, get cobblestone 4. ... Oh wait. This isn't Minecraft you're talking about Silliness aside, nice guide, but... you're doing it wrong 1. Read the manual: [TS] [FS] (FS manual doesn't go over the game basics. Read the TS one first) 2. Play through the campaigns. No, don't argue. Do it. Kane commands you  3. NOW continue with c0rpsmakr's guide Really. After that one dude here asked about the mysterious white beam that destroyed his base... RTFM, people, and play the damn game before jumping to multiplayer -
Imperceptible my ass. It looks awful when the power changes. The whole bar moves up and down instead of just the power indicator bar inside it.

Installing mission from an old unofficial RA1 expansion
Nyerguds replied to TaxOwlbear's topic in Red Alert
I can "bypass that lockout" in two minutes. It's just changing the savegame version ID in the save file. However, as Blade said, these version IDs exist for a reason; they get changed when portions of the game are changed substantially. Loading such savegames from different versions mostly just crashes the game, because the memory dumps in the samegame are no longer the same as the structure the game uses for these objects. -
...including palette scrolling? :3

Oh? So what exactly was the bug? I'm curious now.

It was... required

Installing mission from an old unofficial RA1 expansion
Nyerguds replied to TaxOwlbear's topic in Red Alert
I don't think that project went anywhere, tbh. I remember they found some code in the exe related to writing an ini file from the currently playing mission, but I doubt it was complete or usable. It'd be version-specific anyway, so even if they did those hacks, they'd have to be done all over again on the unpatched version. -

Wow, very descriptive there. We'll fix your very specifically detailed issue right away

Sorry, I'm not responsible for how they botched the game to make their multiplayer version. I honestly have no idea what purpose it serves to disable single player options, especially since the game already had command line parameters to skip straight to the networking parts they need. I'd integrate the stuff, but I really, really don't like the way the messed up the sidebar power bar.

Wouldn't that also mean that building helis stops working after those thirty A-10s / C17s have passed? Anyway, this crash is specifically in the reinforcing code, and as far as I can see it's just before the checks that determine whether to apply any specific C17 logics to it. Though, the fact it's a nullpointer might indeed indicate that it didn't manage to create the object it's trying to process.

The hotkeys thing is an extra hack in the cncnet version. You won't have it until you install the cncnet client on it.
