  1. The idea is really nice, but I agree with Jacko, it looks quite open (especially right around the actual base positions) -Liam
  2. I'd always wanted to see the game play out much like Battle Field, rather than trying to emulate RTS, as I felt that RTS was a way of emulating a war game as a commander, in the same way that many FPS are ways of emulating being a soldier. Would be cool to see several game types. Of course, all this would come after 3D models/textures etc. I hope you find some people to help. I'd love to see TD finally get the real FPS style game it deserves. -Liam
  3. Just make lots of buggies and drive them around... if they run into it, it'll show up. But honestly, if you won, who cares. Just say, "I've clearly won and can't be bothered, thanks, GG" and leave the game. Heck, you don't even get the win screen when your opponent leaves, in C&C95. -Liam
  4. Yes, well; as it turns out, what makes people decent is not if they all believe the same thing or if they've seen or not seen certain things, but instead, weather or not they treat each other with respect, and see each other in some form of family. You know, those instinctual things, that almost every animal has in some certain way.
  5. Yes, it does look like that, but it's not. That's the Nod commando mission. It scrolls far to the south. That gunboat is at least a whole screens worth of cells away. -Liam
  6. haha, smooth advertisement
  7. uhhh. so I just popped this in and it's causing graphical problems. Stuff smearing at the bottom of the screen. Even picking up on stuff that's still in the shroud. -Liam
  8. Could I get you to bundle both XCC and the special files for DoT into one rar/zip. I can't get mine working which makes mapping a bit hard. -Liam
  9. Hm, as it turns out I've only got 1 of the correct files in this... the other file is the bloody bmp that I converted to be used for the preview. If someone has played me and this map and has both files, could I get it off you so that I can fix this. (new computer, the file is on the old one... can't be bothered plugging it in). -Liam

mmm... Well, if I ever go ahead with my idea for a TD expansion, I would probably look into fixing it in that exact way. The only thing that would mean is a vehicles being dropped off a little sooner. Although, if the strip is east bound, it's pretty much instant anyway. The other thing that would be cool, is if we could program the plane to fly from the west side of the map if it's west bound. But that would, of course, take some pretty serious hacking......... "Who ya gonna call? Nyerguds!" -Liam
  11. Well, at least if people go for inf, then there's troops and tanks...... But yeah, still no purpose for arty, ranger etc. I guess -Liam Still need balancers for my mod (in fact, my mod is not on my other comp... which is currently unplugged. Kinda annoying.
  12. Haha... Well, I find that the maps I have here help more units to be seen in TD... the chokes mean you can set up blockades etc, as both sides. Although, the speed of tanks in RA1 seems to just demolish too many units. Other than that, you mostly just see Coils, V2, MAYBE migs. Smaller maps surely help the allies, though. At least your wouldn't be able to completely smash through resources (you'd have to think more) on this map. It's hard to say, though. As small ground skirmishes seem to be different to the massive maps on RA1 (but not that many people play these smaller maps). -Liam
  13. Talk to Lovehandles, I think he might already be on that job But yes, I did ask RA1 players about duel maps, but no one could really say if they played on dueling style maps or not. Seems a pity, because RA1 has some good head to head capabilities in it... would be nice to see a map designed to help certain, unused, units to be made more. -Liam

Yeah, the plane always takes a while to drop off to the left, although, it's not too bad unless it's so far left that it effects buggy production, capping it's speed at a longer build rate than it should. In some ways it'd maybe be better to see it gone... it's not like you're only allowed 1 cargo plane per strip, it's just that the plane has to drop the cargo before another can enter the map (which doesn't actually make sense). -Liam
  15. I actually really like the way it plays. There was a little concern about path finding (for unit's AI), but if you just make sure they get microed around the corners, they're fine -Liam
  16. So, I just bought SC 2... Here's how the install works: You put the CD in and then it downloads 5GB worth of data. Honestly, I probably wont be able to play this game tonight. I can't imagine why that data isn't simply on the DVD. Also, trying to set my battle net 'BattleTag' seems to be an issue also. It keeps rejecting it and not telling me why. Still have no idea why -.- I'd just like say thank you, for the designers of CnCnet and other simple C&C components, that you use logic in your updates and downloads. Making it all user friendly and as compact as you can. I know that the games are old, and obviously, that also helps. But still; yay for your logic. -Liam
  17. I'm in the process of getting a new computer.. will start working on it then. So, I also feel I may need a bit more time. HAHA. plus I'd rather do a good job on it. -Liam
  18. The Alpha jet looks like it's got a palette issue. Yes, the top VBL looks like a transparency issue. Again, open the file in SHP builder, use the "replace color tool (the icon that looks like a black box on top of a white) and just replace whatever the current background color is now, with the first color on the palette, the very top left color (that's the transparency color). -Liam
  19. I too miss the 'rank' picture... I was looking forward to becoming a medium tank. And now I'll never get my picture lol Can we get those back? haha -Liam
  20. Yes, it certainly did. Oh how I miss using ARDA for modding online C&C:RA Great tool. -Liam
  21. Huh... the more you know. Never knew that; thanks Nyer. -Liam
  22. I thought you were 1/2 serious, but sure haha -Liam
  23. Hey RainXc, I've been following the FB page, actually. Good stuff man. -Liam
