CnCNet Driver?[ReactOS]

Question

I've been trying to install CnCNet on ReactOS. My first issue is this text, which is terrible, but I can live with this. But that's not why I'm here(image below.)

The reason why I am here is because of a supposed driver. Attempting to join CNCNet, try a skirmish or do a LAN, bring up this screen.

I'd like to know what driver this is trying to install. I noted that Windows XP and 2003 also bring up this message but it automatically installs the driver without me even touching anything(which means that this message makes sense on ReactOS as it's pretty much 2003 and XP compatible.) Anyone know where this driver might be?

Could it be .NET 2.5 maybe?

I'll check but I'm certain it's not.

Edit:Nope, it's not. I got all the .net redistros that would work with ReactOS and it still didn't work.

I just tested it on a fresh XP SP3, it only installs .NET 2.0. No driver or anything like this.

It might be the Audio/Multimedia driver.  Here's a video on how to install the Audio driver, maybe this will help: https://youtu.be/ODue5_XJ6p4

I had issues with ReactOS and the 64bit build. Try the 32-bit build if your problem persists.

      Hi Guys,
      I'm fairly new to this, but I wanted to make some slight changed to the veterancy settings in the rules.ini and firestorm.ini. I was using the guide from this website: http://tiberian.iwarp.com/editingguidetots.htm to get me started. There are a few things I don't understand. There are VeteranAbilities and EliteAbilities, as well as a bundge of multipliers for veterancy bonuses (veteran factors). I figured out that to make the veteran factors work, they need to be in correspondence with the VeteranAbility or EliteAbility it corresponds with (e.g. "VeteranCombat" factor corresponds with the "FIREPOWER" VeteranAbility that is to be added in the unit characteristics under VeteranAbility or EliteAbility (if I'm off somewhere, please correct me).
      What I want to achieve is a veterancy bonus for FIREPOWER for example when the unit gains veterancy and I would like to give it another bonus when it turns elite. The sample below is how I tried to achieve that with the Hover MRLS:
      ---
      Name=Hover MLRS
      Category=AFV
      TargetLaser=yes
      FireAngle=32
      Prerequisite=GAWEAP,GARADR
      Primary=HoverMissile
      TooBigToFitUnderBridge=true
      Strength=230
      Armor=wood
      TechLevel=7
      CrateGoodie=yes
      Sight=7
      Speed=7
      Owner=GDI
      Cost=900
      Turret=yes
      Points=30
      ROT=5
      Crusher=no
      Crewed=yes
      Explosion=TWLT070,S_BANG48,S_BRNL58,S_CLSN58,S_TUMU60
      VoiceSelect=25-I000,25-I002,25-I004,25-I006
      VoiceMove=25-I012,25-I014,25-I016,25-I018,25-I022
      VoiceAttack=25-I014,25-I022,25-I024,25-I026
      VoiceFeedback=
      MaxDebris=4
      SpeedType=Hover
      Locomotor={4A582742-9839-11d1-B709-00A024DDAFD1}
      MovementZone=AmphibiousDestroyer
      ThreatPosed=25    ; This value MUST be 0 for all building addons
      DamageParticleSystems=SparkSys,SmallGreySSys
      VeteranAbilities=FASTER,STRONGER,FIREPOWER,ROF,SIGHT
      EliteAbilities=SELF_HEAL,FASTER,STRONGER,FIREPOWER,ROF,SIGHT
      ---
      When I test this, I found it only get's the bonus on first veterancy, but not a second time when going to Elite (even though that is what I put in the rules.ini).
      Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and how should I achieve this? It is simply meant to make the whole deal of gaining veterancy and elite status more gratifying.
      Thanks!

      A very long time ago I found a Russian website with a RA1 TC called Third Revolution. It's a stand-alone total conversion with new campaigns and a setting unrelated to the C&C universe -- rather, it tells the story of a post-1991 restoration of the Soviet Union and its struggle against Capitalist adversaries. The author had problems with the black/transparent colour in the palette but otherwise it was pretty solid all-in-all.
      Back then I downloaded the Russian version, but later forgot about that TC until recently (had to ask around to remember the title). Anyway, the Russian version of the TC is available from The Red Alert Archive, however the developer's page also lists an English version (thirden.rar) among downloads, as well as a music pack (scores_full.rar). Supposedly, these were hosted at http://ra.afraid.org/thirdrev/, but the Wayback Machine does not have the respective files, and apparently they were at some point removed, for whatever reason.
      I was wondering if anyone still has these files archived somewhere? Also, it seems that the TC is based on Aftermath 2.02, would it be possible to upgrade to 3.03 Beta?

      Running CnCNet server using systemd (Linux x64)

      wget downloads.cncnet.org/tunnel.sh sh tunnel.sh 200 "Unnamed Server" If you're unsure what linux distro to choose, just take the latest version of Ubuntu

      Using the above method you can run both CnCNet servers as a service and they will continue to run even after the server restarted.

      Alternatively you can also run the servers individually (see below):

      New Server (All Games)

      Linux x64 example:
      wget -c https://downloads.cncnet.org/cncnet-server.tgz -O - | tar -xz nohup ./cncnet-server --name "My cool server" --maxclients 200 --port 50001 --portv2 50000 > cncnet-server.log 2>&1 & Linux ARM

      Windows:
      On XP, Vista and 7 make sure .NET 4.0 is installed: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=17113
      Download the server and start it: http://downloads.cncnet.org/cncnet-server-gui.exe

      Note: Servers are chosen automatically by CnCNet and are only used in case 2 players fail to establish a Peer-To-Peer connection. Yuri's Revenge players can select a specific server via the advanced settings while hosting a game room.

      Old Server (Yuris Revenge only)

      Linux (Ubuntu) example:
      sudo apt-get install default-jre wget http://downloads.cncnet.org/cncnet-tunnel.exe nohup java -jar cncnet-tunnel.exe -name "My cool server" -maxclients 200 -port 50000 -headless > cncnet-tunnel.log 2>&1 &

      Windows:
      Download the server and start it: http://downloads.cncnet.org/cncnet-tunnel.exe

      Note:  To use a specific server you'll have to select it via the advanced settings while hosting a game room.

      The servers will not show up instantly on the website, it can take up to 4 hours
