Nice to see some older PC's getting some use. Weird that it would lag on such a machine though. Maybe TT enables some effects or rendering API's the GPU doesn't really like or I guess it could be the server... Makes we wanna play some real Renegade again too.

Firestorm Defense does not defend against missiles on multiplayer
Tore replied to markf's topic in Tiberian Sun
In skirmish firestorm defense does block missiles. https://drive.google.com/open?id=11x4O0Ed_Y7In3Y8Oki1XwhuOz76LZY9s -
Indeed what @SiMStorM said. As for why it is 2 different files you should ask @Nyerguds . I guess it is because the movies download is quite a bit larger than the game itself and if you have the original CD's you can run the movies from them.

Hi, The first few maps in C&C1 are very small, infact they are smaller than most common resolutions these days. If you have changed resolution from the default 640x400 to your monitors resolution it is likely that you are seeing the entire map at once and thus you are unable to scroll anywhere.

The fixed launchers are not strictly necessary for ZH mods anyway. However Generals.exe on Origin will launch a launcher program first so any launcher program must check for the game actually running instead of renaming mod files back on exit. The TDR launcher does kinda accommodate for this with the force enable option though. As for UAC issues you should make sure the mod launcher runs with admin permissions triggering the UAC prompt.

Happily left OpenRA and wish to transfer my work to here
Tore replied to NerevarII's topic in Modding Discussion
Sad to hear your bad experiences with OpenRA, but I've heard similar experiences from people before. I don't think there is any tools to convert maps from OpenRA back to the classic games as they use incompatible formats. So you'd have to remake the maps on XCC Editor or RA-ED depending on the game. -
Yes, these are very rare and were only available from Westwood.com or in certain bundles at certain stores. I don't think you can get them from anywhere other than auction/used goods sites like Ebay and similar and when they show up people usually want quite a bit of money for them.

The site isn't down. What error message do you get when trying to access it?
-
Have you tried running it as admin?
-
That's a typo. Should've been 1024x768 No archive of the forum layout itself? archive.org pls.

There should be a file in your RA2/YR folder called except.txt, you should upload that, maybe someone can at least figure out where in the code the game crashed.

The A10 is in mp, you just need to enable crates.

C&C1 originally has temperate, desert and winter (looks like temperate, but has snowy bits here and there)

The default TUC exe's do not respond to command line parameters.

RA1 looking for a base version to use for modding

Why not just use @FunkyFr3sh's installer? https://funkyfr3sh.cnc-comm.com/ -
Once the CnCNet theme has been updated to work with this version of IPB avatars will be back to squares :)
-
That would be a part of (the former?) Renegade Projects, not PPM.But there have been great contributions from certain PPM people like Rampastring who made the majority of the YR client. Ares itself hasn't been much of a influence especially seeing that CnCNet5 was initially incompatible with it until a CnCNet5 DLL could be made. Next update all avatars are gonna be oval.
-
That's rather circular. I was looking for what PPM has enabled in CnCNet, looking for your opinion on that By using the best browser known to man: Lynx
-
Not quite sure what you are getting at here. Next CnCNet theme: monochrome, alternatives: green phosphor or white phosphor. Text mode only

New TS-DDraw release (Tiberian Sun / Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge)
Tore replied to FunkyFr3sh's topic in The Tech Center
Maybe it needs some sort of flag or similar to make Windows desktop compositing stay away? It might be handling it as a simple desktop app right now. I have a similar issue with cnc-ddraw and ts-ddraw. Maybe WinXP compatibility mode or something can help for the time being.- 70 replies

So second rate CnCNet originated there. Also C&C95 theme was beautiful
-
Yes, it includes covert ops. As for the game crashing you probably need to download and extract this in your C&C95 folder: http://downloads.cncnet.org/addons/td-config.7z In addition check if some sort of compatibility mode is enabled on C&C95.exe and disable it.
