i removed all crapware nyerguds added and now the game is just 6mb :D

You mean you stripped the game to such an extent it doesn't even contain missions or music anymore... and again, I wonder, why?

Didn't zounds.mix only ship with the DOS version? I know Nyerguds' patch has it too though.

Nyerguds made his own 106c r3 zounds.mix, he spend a whole day farting in his mic

Screw you. I didn't change a byte in that file.

(I just rewrote all of its loading code in the exe 8))

I would like to know as to why this is tripping my Norton?

You say the crapware is removed, yet this is still triggering my anti-virus.

Please explain as to what is happening or why you guys can't code something that can't trip an anti-virus?

you can upload it to virustotal.com and you will see all the files are totally clean, norton/symantec is well known for being one of the worst antivirus software that exists .. so please dont blame other people if you are using such horrible software

read this here about norton:

http://www.codeandweb.com/blog/2012/06/23/how-symantec-ruins-independent-developers

you can also google to find more info about symantec and their crapware

btw, i also recommend AntiVir like the guy on that website. Im using it since many years and i never had such problems

you can get it here: http://www.avira.com/en/downloads

Avast trips about unknown software, maybe Norton also do it. When I compile a Hello World in C it warns me... :P

And also, I do not recommend any Symantec software when it is related to security due the well-know fact that happened arround 2006.

The crapware we commented here is just a joke about his "1-click install" feature, which in most installers it includes useless toolbars and such that are not included here.

There was never any "crapware" in it. They were just being assholes to me for the extras I added in my patch

:O

Wow...Is my face red or what.

Sorry for that...outburst. I just was a little confused as I had recently been screwed over by what I thought was a ROM of Battletanx.

Anyways, thanks for the info.

The string tables have been updated! All missing strings have been added (including tooltips)

Translators needed!

The following languages are 50% done: Eesti Deutsch Hrvatski Nederlands Polski Russian Spanish

For all other languages a complete translation is needed

The english example and the half done string tables for the other languages stated above can be downloaded here: http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/files/RA1O-StringTables.zip

The sound on the game is not working for me.  It starts out, but then very quickly goes away, completely muffled.

      Good morning,
first of all I have to admit that cncnet is a great work! I have been playing red alert in the late 1990s as a teenager and it is fun to play the same game with my kids now nearly 25 years later... I am currently upgrading my kids' computers from WinXP to Win10 and while red alert still runs fine on Win10, there is one minor issue that I am trying to get around now:
The LAN cnc irc server (which is started when selecting the LAN modus on the launcher and no other server is running on the LAN) requires admin priviledges to be run. Now I do not want to grant these rights to my kids user accounts and I do not want to give the admin password to them for obvious reasons. One workaround would be to use the online mode whichs runs fine or to start red alert without the launcher but I am trying to fix this issue for me to benefit from the great work of the cncnet lobby.
I do have a local IRC server up and running which I can use to connect using the online-modus (by setting the server in the server file). But I would like to set this server to be used when seleting the LAN-mode. The local IRC server I have is not the one from cnc as I have set it up on a small linux home server - I am not able to use the cnc irc server there as I do not want to change this linux system significantly (no .net, no mono, no wine). The current irc server is running in a docker image which works great without altering the system itself.
So the question is: how do I tell the cncnet5 application to connect to a certain irc server (the local irc server) when selecting LAN mode?
      Best regards
      Martin

      Greetings,
For some reason my DTA client doesn't work anymore, and this is the case for everything I own. E.g, MO and TI etc... I have installed Windows 10 lately so that could be an issue with some .dll file or something, idk. Tried to reinstall one of the mods but didn't work, also installed XNA framework 4.0 but nope.
      Here is my client folder.

Hello again, I had gotten the collection from Origin, and while playing Red Alert, I had a issue where I'm in a middle of a mission and the game crashes to the point it makes the pc to reboot, is there something I can do to fix this?
