Red Dawn (RA-1)

Recommended Posts

It dosen't have a virus.  Some antivirus software think the ra95.exe is a virus. I know Kaspersky use to but I emailed them about it and it was cleared up quite awhile ago. I also belive Norton was doing the same but it was fixed before I delt with Kaspersky.

All of the community builds of RA1 are know do this because of updates to the ra95.exe to fix bug and add new things. The community builds are based on PortableRA and specifically the ra95.exe AKA the Iran patched exe file. PortableRA http://iran.cnc-comm.com/ra/ has a warning about antivirus false positives at the bottom of the page.

looks very nice

of course RA already has its own compatible desert set that doesn't replace temperate, maybe you could switch it with this?

Jacko: wow, hold on :) frankly, this is new to me. What exactly does this mean? The term Theater=DESERT is actually valid in RA as well? Are the TMPs as the same as in C&C or in RA (just like the one I made)?

yes this is possible with the latest versions of RA, and is compatible with cncnet 5

I think winter (not snow) was converted too but I cannot confirm

AFAIK the latest version is 3.03, I have it too, but it crashed when I tried Theater=DESERT.

the original 3.03 doesnt support it, you need our patched versions :D

cncnet5 comes with all needed files, portableRA too

Edit: why do we spam allens Red Dawn thread ? :D

Tschokky

Iran's RA1 dose support Destert and Winter. Red Dawn used both before CnC Net 5 done. Red Dawn 2013 used desert for the Nod missions. GDI 9 is the only winter mission but loads of the skrimish maps used both as well. You best update to your RA1 with the Iran ra95.exe and related things.

FunkyFr3sh setup will patch your current install. http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/  Before you do the patching back up any modded thing just to be safe.

Desert tiles use the same name as temperate and snow but the file extension for desert is .des.

Jacko

I converted the C&C95 winter to RA1 for Iran as well.

FunkyFr3sh

Because it is the best thread? :-)

@Tschokky: The finished Desert conversion looks great, can I ship it with the 3.03p Red Alert patch?

Did you also create Desert graphics for the river etc tiles which C&C1 don't have but RA1 does? I.e. RA1 has a larger tile set than C&C1

Very nice! Could you upload the files?

I'm a bit worried this somehow breaks currently released desert maps but there are only a few of them so it shouldn't be so bad.

Indeed it does... would be better if that were based on either recoloured versions of the cracked Temperate one, or on the broken Desert bridge in C&C1.

You're absolutely right. I thought recoloring would really take a lot of time, so that's why I deceided to do that. I'll probably re-draw them later. In the meantime, here are the two mixes:

Desert.mix with tiberium

Sorry about the redness, it's only because I use a different palette for my C&C conversion, I'll fix that too.

Hi there I finally re-downloaded and installed red dawn. is it me or the AI doesn't repair the buildings? i'm in the GDI mission where I have to go and defend the path I've cleared in a previous mission for a convoy, and well I send a few medium tanks at a time destroying the buildings in the nod base. as I sent the tanks and get trounced by the enemy, I realized that the damage I've done to the building doesn't get repaired. So, I was able to easily disable the supply of light tanks sent by the AI as soon as the weapons factory was blown. I saved the missions at theis point , but I've notciced that there was no repair icon on the building and the building has not been rebuilt also, The only building i've seen the AI fix is the Conyard.

was that suppose to happen?

yes

The AI in that mission was only told to repair the construction yard and the refinery

although it does rebuild things after a while unless something blocks where its supposed to be rebuilt

All Medals were reset and a new map was created, please check the new rules below

      Rules:
      1. Settings = Color: Yellow, Country: Germany, Speed: 7
      2. You must destroy all enemy tanks before the time runs out
      3. You need to win using hotkeys like in the video shown below (ctrl shift etc..)
      4. Stacking/fooling the AI is not allowed - Do not park any tanks next to the kennels to destroy/block them on purpose (no force fire etc..)
      5. Your screen resolution must be 1280x width or below and 720x height or below (1024*768, 1920x1080 etc... are not allowed)
      6. 1 trusted spectator must watch you playing the map (See names below)
      7. The spectator must host the game room and not the player
      8. The game must run at an acceptable speed, laggy games don't count

Spectators: robskate, Bravo, At0m1, FunkyFr3sh, Lauta, D1GA, Commander, Lovehandles, Ferret, ra168uk, lordy

Note to Spectators: After the game you must check the resolution of the player in the score screen to ensure the player did not use a too high resolution. When the ready button was clicked there should be no cheat warning.

      Example video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDzDXvyPjCw

Search for "Gold Medal Challenge V2.1" or type the following command inside a game room:
      /map 72f6a01ff66dbc3e193cdbe84adf51f6636f4956

      Hi everyone,
I know there several posts out there on Virtual Machine LAN networking, but I haven't come across any referencing VMware ESXi.  Was hoping I could start one.
Here's what I'm trying to do...
I have a ESXi host running vSphere 6.5.  On it are several VM guests running Windows 10 (build 1903).  All VMs are using VMNET3 virtual NICS, w/8GB RAM, and quad core vprocs.
I'm having a heckuva time getting LAN networking to run for any CNC game (Dune 2000, TD, TS, RA - doesn't matter, symptoms are the same).
On the VM, all games install successfully using the latest builds.  All will run without error too.
On the example below, I'm running Dune 2000.  As you can see in 'screenshot 1', it does not allow me to join or create a new game.  What's interesting is that the IRC client does not appear to load despite being previously installed.   The Windows firewall is turned off.

Now, by contrast, on a regular laptop - the same game installer will allow me to create a new game or join an existing one.
      I welcome your thoughts.

      Hey! I hope this is the right place for my question;
I started to play around with settings of a given tower defense map, but I could not find the description of these settings in the rules .ini(or I have missed it?!) so if you'd know, please let me know how do they work in the comments. I managed to figure out how to increase building speed, and the unit count of each wave, but I couldn't figure how to set frequency, wave count and so on. These are these setting (map name is: "TD 4.2 PRO FULL VERSION"):

I figured that the first number after the unit type sets the number of units each wave, but for example wave 1 has 30 waves, and I have no idea what sets that. Big thanks in advance!

      Another day another question...

How many triggers and teams can be created in one map?

I created a map witch crashes whenever I want to start it... I can't find any mistake. Maybe there are simply to many triggers for the system? (More than 100)

      Thanks for your help!
